Flash Video (FLV) is a container file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player version 6 or newer. Flash Video content may also be embedded within SWF files. The format has quickly established itself as the format of choice for embedded video on the web at YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, and many other news providers.

To play or record FLV files, Total Recorder needs an external decoding or encoding engine. Note, that a particular decoding/encoding engine is required for a particular video formats.

It is possible, that correspondent engine is already installed in your system and you will not face with problems while playing and recording FLV files. If it is occurred, that Total Recorder informs that a FLV file cannot be opened or you cannot save or record in FLV, then this means that correspondent decoding or encoding engine is not installed. To resolve the problem, you can install such free software as FFDShow.
