Capture video from the PC screen or from hardware video devices; merge video with audio tracks into files; edit video files without re-encoding
Total Recorder VideoPro Edition lets you create video (AVI, WMV, FLV) files from various software and hardware sources, including any captured screen region or window, or a hardware video device such as a DV camera, web camera, TV-tuner or DVD player. You can also background record video in WMV format and video streams in FLV format which are transmitted using HTTP.
Possible sources for audio streams that can be included in the recorded video files include: software source, sound board source, and mixed software and sound board source (the latter requires the Digital Mixer Add-on installed). You also can schedule a recording from your favourite video services and websites or record any activities on the screen of your PC.
With the VideoPro Edition, you also can edit video files. For example, you can save, cut, copy, or paste a selection. Editing of a video file is performed without re-encoding. This saves time and does not lead to a loss of video or audio quality.
Other useful operations that can be performed with this VideoPro Edition include:
-
adding an audio stream to a video file (e.g you can record your voice via a microphone and add it to the video file as commentary).
- support for multiple monitors (e.g. you can specify the monitor from which a window or region will be captured or the monitor to be used when playing video in full-screen mode).
-
extracting and replacing an audio stream in a video file (e.g. you can extract audio from a file and edit it using audio editing functionality of Total Recorder and it's add-ons) and then add the edited audio back to the original file.
-
saving a video frame (e.g. recorded from a webcam) as a bitmap (.bmp) file that you can print or send
to friends.
-
copying a video frame to the Clipboard, from where the image can be pasted into another program such as a graphic editor or a word processor.
