The ability to customize skins was introduced in Total Recorder 6.0 and is available in each edition. The Total Recorder Skin Design Tool lets users develop a custom look and feel for the Total Recorder user interface.

The Total Recorder Skin Design Tool is distributed free of charge and does not require a registration, but you must be using Total Recorder Version 6.0 or above to use the skins developed with this tool. Follow the link to download Total Recorder Skin Design Tool (0.6 MB).

The update version of the Skin Design Tool has the following enhancements:

• Preview mode that allow to you see the how the skin looks like without launching Total Recorder
• Ability to select controls directly in the image of the Total Recorder's main window or in the menu's tree in Total Recorder.

Note that the Skin Design Tool will only work in Windows 2000 and Windows XP environments. It will not work on Windows 95/98/ME systems.

If you wish to use a skin, you will need to install it. To obtain a skin, you can either download one of the pre-developed skins from the table below, or develop your own skin using the Total Recorder Skin Design Tool.

To select which interface representation of Total Recorder to use (classic view or skin view), use the Options – Settings – Skins dialog in Total Recorder. This dialog also displays a list of the installed skins.
